Decoy Split Rings

Not all split rings are created equal, River2Sea have tested many over the years and have decided that Decoy Split Rings makes the best ones out there.

Decoy split rings are extremely strong and with superb memory. Meaning despite repeated opening and closing with split ring pliers to install all manner of hooks and lures, they always return to their original tightly wound state.

Decoy Split Rings are well known for this reliability. Made in Japan from the highest quality corrosion resistant stainless steel. Perfect for connecting your Assist Hooks with a solid ring and to the jig. It’s unique material blend and processing will not open up even after repeated use. They are extremely reliable and strong. We have all used inferior rings before that will lose their shape after installing a hook on them. Not so with Decoy split rings.

Typically we like to use a split ring as the primary connector. Tie the Shock leader to a good quality swivel (we try to avoid snap swivels as that is just one more thing that could fail), swivel then connects to the best split ring you can get. The jig then connects to the split ring. Assist hooks are looped onto a solid ring and the solid ring then connected to the split ring. This way you can change the solid ring with hooks OR/AND the jig at anytime without having to tie any new knots. Basically you use the split ring in place of the snap on a snap swivel. Stronger and much more reliable. This is the split ring centric style of terminal rigging for jigs. Once you have used these Decoy split rings you won’t want to use any other brand.
